Mentor Duties:
  • Responsible for meeting with the assigned mentee during their 40-hour work week.

  • Act as a resource and guide.

  • Work closely with shop owner to track progress and hours of apprentice. 

  • Serve as an example/role model.

  • Accept and relate to apprentice who may not share the mentor's lifestyle and values.

  • Respect the mentee's right to self-determination and independence.

Mentor Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in field. (automotive technician)

  • Must be at shop for at least 1 year.

  • Honest.

  • Practical Nature.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Sincere interest in well-being of apprentice.

  • Desire to make a positive difference in others’ lives.

  • Must have a strong working knowledge of systems being trained

  • Must possess ability to utilize online information systems.

  • Willingness to test skills and knowledge via on-line testing and/or hands-on testing.
